- I’m a bleeding-heart feminist college writing/English instructor with big, bold dreams for a future uninhibited by departmental downsizing and piss-poor state funding. I’m also a military spouse in the Deep South, raising a baby girl whom we'll call Piglet, born on July 22, 2010. Go figure.
In Act I, my husband Dr. Feelgood (a Navy physician) is deploying for Gitmo five weeks after Piglet is born. Hence, I'll be taking a hiatus from teaching and will hightail it up to our folks' in Michigan, where at least someone related to me can partake in the childrearing/postpartum insanity.
