Christian Bale is as hot now as he was in 1994, when I first fell in love with him in Little Women. (Shut up, it was a very formative film for me. I was twelve and wished that I had a Laurie. Poor child, no one in 1994 had hair as good as they did during the Civil War.)
But I digress. My thesis is this: Batman was okay, but DAMN, Bruce Wayne.

- I'm Lauren. I am a resident of San Diego, California. I graduated from the University of Michigan (my home state) in 2003 and spent my time after that wondering what the hell my purpose was in life. The English major, it is not everything it is cracked up to be. So now I am in grad school in Rhetoric, where I am studying how writing gets things done in our world. I like it so much I think I am going to pursue a PhD. (Also, I like the fact that letters to our house will be addressed 'The Doctors L---.') I am married to Ian, who is a physician doing his internship with the U.S. Navy. We are enjoying all the military spoils that come at the expense of you, the taxpayer. The blog name comes from Steinbeck, whose motto, "To the stars on the wings of a pig" described his status as a "lumbering soul but trying to fly." It fits me well.

I'll have you know, Christian Bale was hot in Newsies when he was a song and dance man - though marginally out done by the chainsaw-gymsock routine of 2000.
Though, if anyone has wet panties after watching his sweet little ingenue face Empire of the Sun, you have issues.
I cannot fucking wait to rock the Wayne action this weekend.
